Kenmore Construction Co. and the City of Akron have closed Schumacher Ave. between W. Thornton St. and Russell Ave. as they continue replacement of the existing water main.
Southbound traffic will be detoured using W. Thornton St., Norka Ave., Scheck St., W. Bowery St., and Russell Ave. Northbound traffic will be detoured using Russell Ave., Taylor St., and W. Thornton St.
Access will continue to be maintained for the local residents, but drivers are urged to use caution while proceeding through this area.
This work is expected to be completed by Friday, April 21.
