I-76 to Vernon Odom Blvd
Starts: June 10, 2019
Ends: May 4, 2020
For the first phase of the Romig Road Improvements project, The Ruhlin Company and the City of Akron are planning to close the east half of Romig Rd., between I-76 and Vernon Odom Blvd., on Tuesday, June 18.
Traffic will be maintained on the west half of the street, but funneled down into a single lane in each direction.
Access will be maintained to each of the side streets along the east side of Romig Rd. until approximately June 24 when several intersections will need to be closed. At that time, those wanting to access Kendale Dr., Woodbirch Ave., Fawler Ave. and Central Ave. will need to use Grand Blvd.
The first phase of this project is expected to be complete by October of this year and the completion of the remaining work is expected to be by May 4, 2020.
Drivers are urged to use caution while proceeding through this area.
