Safe Routes to Schools 2016

E Exchange St - Goodkirk Rd to S Arlington St, Wilbeth Rd - 1-77 to S Arlington St

Starts: May 2019
Ends: August 2019

Project Description

As part of the safe routes to school program the following improvements will be made; a road diet will be implemented along Wilbeth road from 1-77 to Arlington St., and East Exchange St. from Goodkirk St. to Arlington St. These changes will provide safer, more calming traffic flow by creating a 'right sized' roadway, which
will also allow better options for cyclists and pedestrians. The existing four lane section will be re-striped to three standard width vehicle lanes, with one through lane in each direction and a center two way left turn lane, as well as dedicated bicycle lanes. Also included are miscellaneous improvements such as crosswalk striping, detectable warnings for curb ramps, and installation of new Radar School Flashing Beacons.

Anticipated Maintenance of Traffic

Temporary lane and intersection closure for striping is anticipated.
