Safe Routes to Schools 2015

Vernon Odom Blvd - Ruth Ave to Rhodes Ave

Starts: May 2018
Ends: November 2018

Project Description

As part of the safe routes to school program, a road diet will be implemented along Vernon Odom Boulevard. These changes will provide safer, more calming traffic flow by creating a 'right sized' roadway which will also allow better options for cyclists and pedestrians. The existing four lane section will be re-striped to three standard width vehicle lanes with one through lane in each direction and a center two way left turn lane, as well as dedicated bicycle lanes.

Anticipated Maintenance of Traffic

Temporary lane and intersection closure for striping is anticipated.

Dollar Value of Project

$450,000
